Mixed media do over

Well I wasn't too happy with the way things we're looking. So I started over. I'm liking this one better. Still a work in progress.

Techniques included using homemade modeling paste, tearing of paper (so hard to do with that beautiful designer paper lol), inking and stamping.

Mixed Media on Canvas

Well I'm giving this mixed media thing a try.
This is an 8x10 canvas which I primed with Gesso.
The next layer is sprayed with distress inks in Lipstick and Antique Linen.
Stenciled in some leaves using some Gloss Indoor acrylic paint I had on hand.
The left side is some green ribbon gesso primed and left white.
I'm not so happy with the way the stenciled leaved adhered to this ribbon....but live an learn.

The next layers I stenciled in some bricks here and there using textured paste and left white. Altho I find that it ever so slightly absorbed the ink from below.

I also inked in some cursive writing using a stamp and brown archival ink.
Once all dried and added a top coat of Matt Varnish, except for over the bricks. I wasn't sure if it would effect it somehow.

It's a work in progress, but here's a sneak peek!

Stamptember

Love this SimonSaysStamp Happy Birthday die. It just adds enough bling to any card.
The flower is from Heartfelt Creations stamp (colored with copic markers and a pearl center) and die set.
The curved die is from Spellbinders.
Embossed background.

Kitty in a Shoe

Gotta love for shoes and a love for Kittens?

I found the shoe on the internet, enlarged it and printed it off.
Added a good amount of Glossy Accents to give it some texture, shine and depth.

I also found this cute kitten, resized and fussy cut around it to fit inside the shoe. Cut a small slit in the shoe to tuck the kitten down in. A dot of white pen to accent the kittens eyes a bit.

The black layer is a heavy piece of designer paper, heavy with glass like chunks. It reflects the light brilliantly.

Man Card: Tic Toc

I assembled several clock faces, gave them some antique coloring with copic markers and fussy cut around them.

The background in an embossing folder in cream cardstock. And another layer behind that in a darker beige....scuffed up for some texture. Some brown pearls in the corners.

A computer generated sentiment and framed with Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Labels 8. A little Antique Linen distress ink around the edges.

I chose the largest clock and gave it a coating of Glossy Accents for appeal and adhered with some foam dots.

Bold and Handsome

Textured shinny black designer paper was perfect for the suit jacket.

I drew some lapels and cut them by hand out of black cardstock. And embossed a stitching line along the edges with a stylus pen.
Some designer paper and a bit of embossing make up the shirt. It's a little hard to see, but it makes up the button area, with the fancier type shirt that hides the buttons.

As simple strip of black cardstock makes up the pocket.
Some stripped ribbon makes the bow tie and the pocket pouf.
