Card for 18th

Easy breezy card. Tim Holtz die - Tathered Florals made with tissue paper. Misted with perfect pearls. White embossing with 3 different stamps scattered around.  Martha Stewart punched vellum leaves, glitter glue all around, a silk ribbon and a computer generated sentiment, all on K&Company paper.

Painted Lizard Tank

Well, this one was a stretch for me. Not the glass painting in particular, but because it was for a lizard!! She seems to enjoy her new enviroment and sits and gazes into the abyss as if looking for a fellow slithereene.

The background was painted on black bristle board and taped to the outside of the tank. Folk Art Enamels had the best impact, as the non enamels just got soaked up by the bristle board and lost it's vitality. But the glass was painted with the non enamels solely because if we want to wipe the tank clear of any painting at some point, it still can be done. Enamels would be on for good.

So now Ms. Lizard ....Gucci is her name....has her dessert and her jungle.

One Painted, One Crafted

My local arts store  (Curry's) had this gorgeous embossed sheet of paper on sale this week. One sheet of 18 X 24 " was a meesly $1.98. Too bad there was only one left. But when I saw it, I thought wedding right away. Little did I know that the next day I would get a call from a client that needed a 40th anniversary card. whaahoo...useful right away.

The flowers are made of tissue paper and Tim Holtz die cut (tattered florals), misted with perfect pearls...and a little hairspray hoping it would be a little stronger and not rip when removed from the envolope. Is there another way of making tissue stronger??? Let me know. The leaves were punched with a Martha Stewart, and I used, for the first time, that Velum paper.

The second card is painted with folk art paints, lots of glimmer paint added too as per the clients request. Her favourite color being mauve!

I always add an extra sheet of paper inside an ordered card....with some added painted flowers or stamps just to give it that extra specialness to it.

Paper Bag Mini Album

I saw this project and had to give it a try for my nieces birthday. What a clever idea to use paper bags this way. I think kids would just love these albums, they crinkle and crackle as you handle them, they've got pockets for treasures and photos...great fun!

For this I used svgs of butterflies, squirels, roastings marshmellows, picture frame, seals. A ceramic butterfly, Fox piece from some restaurant puzzle I had, even a mirrored frog. I ripped some school paper, inked it up a bit and glued it in so she could jot some notes down of her own.

Birthday Birthday and More Birthday

Man August is a busy month for birthdays....4 more here and 4 more to go for next week. Hope you enjoy them.

                                It's official, my son is now a Glider pilot. whaaaahooo. 

Embossed Birdie

5 quick cards this morning, so it kinda became an assembly line. Dolies were inked, punched and or cut up for different shapes. Flowers were made with my new Tim Holtz Tathered Flower die or the sizzix flower die, from tissue paper, and then I added lots of sparkles, gems and ribbon all ontop of designer paper from K&Company

Glider

My son is training to become a glider pilot, and I put out a call to my yahoo SCAL group to help me with a glider svg. There were plenty of other aircrafts, but no gliders. Two gals , Shers and Denise came thru for me big time, and I have big hugs for the time they took to create them.

 I can't thank them enough.

I printed off a map for effect, stamped the green cardstock with a compass image all 'round. Added paint to match the gliders colors and some glossy accents to create the cabin window. The GPS stands for Glider Pilots Scolarship.....and not global positioning system  ;)

Tissue Flowers

I recently bought the sizzix Flowered layers #3 just so I could make my own flowers. (Tim Holtz tathered flowers is on its way) I used a designer type tissue paper I bought from the dollarama in the art dept. Cut out 4 layers for each flower and glued them together then added a gem in the middle. The difficult part is that the flowers are cut with the center missing leaving nowhere to really glue it together. So I added a circle on the bottom outside layer and went from there. Other flowers I'm trying are made with the tissue paper and very old, aged book pages....stay tuned.

It gets Better

This one's made with some designer tissue paper, stamps and a little perfect pearls for the sheen, and embossed with black for the sentiment. Again, sorry about the photography....using the old camera!

Clock Spinner

Just a quickie card made with lots of TH distress inks, a clock svg cut with added glossy accents btw the numbers, the compass embossed with copper,  "reach 4 the sky" stamped into the background all around, an added spinner and a few gold sq. emblishments.

I haven't had a chance to sit down much at my craft table lately. Summer finally arrived and I've been out and about enjoying it. So here's a few paintings I did back in the winter months.
